Cement Clinker Export Terminal

PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF CEMENT EXPORT TERMINAL – SOKHNA PORT, EGYPT

The project comprises an export terminal for 2.0 million tons of cement clinker for a cement clinker plant of the Arabian Cement Company. The cement clinker will be transported from the plant to the port by bulk trucks. At the terminal, the cement clinker will be dumped in two underground dump pits and transported to a warehouse and dumped on a 60,000 ton stockpile using a rail mounted stacker. From the stockpile the cement clinker will be reclaimed by wheel loaders which load the conveying system via two bulk receiving units. The cement clinker will be loaded into vessels up to Panamax size with a capacity of 1,500 tph using a rail mounted shiploader.

Services provided by MHC are:

  • Preparation of layout design of the storage and handling facilities.
  • Calculation of investment and operational costs.
  • Preparation of tender documents for the warehouse, civil works, infrastructure, electrical power distribution system, conveying system, and cargo handling equipment.
